i unfortunately have the disease of stagnancy n always put my characters / muses in one spot of their stories n let them loose from there. never really get any big moments. i've always wanted to do one of those big, super plotted out character development events but never really have gotten the chance

THEIR FACES ARE BARELY inches apart. it's hard to tell if her eyes are gray or black anymore, all blown-out pupil and half-lidded haze in the smoky dimlight. it was bad luck that the target they needed to distract was a lesbian, a fiery and velvet-voiced femme whose eyes found seph immediately at the corporate mixer they were infiltrating. normally, @vsagis does the honeypot work between them. seph has never been comfortable being hit on by strangers — though, as they found out today, it turns out their fight-or-flight reaction doesn't activate quite as badly with women.

she couldn't just disappear. not a center-of-attention type like that. but with a proximity-based quirk that would have made things very difficult for them should she be in the room, so they needed to get her alone, outside the building. turns out they didn't have to do much of anything to make that happen. she grabbed them by the wrist within ten minutes of first speaking to them, led her out the door and left seph throwing a bewildered shrug back at izuku — as well as a don't worry, i got this nod.

thankfully, izuku worked fast. he was able to swoop in and collect them before the target could do much more than lean very close and whisper in their ear what she would like to do to them if they had no eyes lingering about. seph's face was horribly red the whole way home; the tension was palpable between the two, impossibly so, and the second the door to izuku's apartment shut behind them, he had them against the wall with lips, tongues, teeth clashing against each other like the world was ending outside.

she's thankful, really — sometimes, when he's feeling stormy, izuku closes off and goes ice-cold, which persephone never quite knows how to respond to other than giving him space or lashing out. this is the first time she's seen him jealous — really, truly jealous — and it's white-hot and forceful in a way that they melt into eagerly. somehow they wound up across the room, and she's in his lap with his hand in her hair and deep red marks scattered about her throat like stars. his other hand has her tie looped around it, pulled taut towards him to keep her close. seph breathes hard against his lips once the kiss breaks, giving herself a moment to rearrange her dizzied mind.

tell me you're mine, he murmurs, and seph wishes they could feel his heartbeat under their hand when they whisper back, ❝ i'm yours. ❞
